With post-monsoon azure skies clearing across the high Himalayas, Nepal's autumn 2026 mountaineering and alpine trekking season has officially commenced. According to the Department of Tourism, over 1,200 international climbers representing 65 countries have acquired statutory mountaineering expedition permits targeting 30 peaks, led by Mount Manaslu (8,163m) and the iconic Ama Dablam (6,812m).
