China is removing Microsoft Windows from government agencies, will now use its own operating system

Kathmandu. China has moved ahead of schedule in removing a special version of Microsoft's Windows 10 operating system from its government offices. The move is part of China's policy to reduce its reliance on foreign technology and prioritize the security of sensitive government data. According to a Bloomberg report, China's Ministry of State Security has ordered some government and government-related organizations to remove Microsoft's software from their computers. The version was specifically designed to meet the security needs of Chinese government agencies. Earlier, the software was scheduled to be removed by February 2027. However, the new directive has pushed back the deadline by a few months. The directive has reportedly come sooner than expected for government employees and some officials in related organizations.
